WheelPad L3C was honored to be featured in the 2023-2024 Vermont Low Income Trust for Electricity (VLITE) Impact Report. VLITE has been a strong supporter of WheelPad and the wonderful partnership that we've enjoyed has been crucial in the success story of WheelPad working to bring back a strong manufacturing presence to Southern Vermont..
VLITE is one of Vermont's special institutions, founded by the State's Public Service Board to become a nonprofit owner of the Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO). VLITE's main goal is to utilize the dividends from VELCO to provide grants that advance state energy policy, dedicating a majority of these grant funds to programs that are focused on the needs of low and moderate income Vermonters.
WheelPad L3C received a grant that was used towards the renovation of an open air pole barn which will give us the ability to manufacture and build our models in an indoor, controlled energy efficient environment in Wilmington, Vermont. It included energy efficient garage doors, and the installation of a patent-pending radiant heated wood floor, which resulted in a floor that was not only stronger than the typical steel reinforced radiant heated concrete floors, but was stronger too!
