We are so excited to be hosted by Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown, MA for an open house on Friday, September 7. The general public and patients of Spaulding Rehab are invited to tour Wheel Pad between 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. We will be parked outside (exact location TBA) and Wheel Pad staff will be on hand to answer questions and explain the features of Wheel Pad.
One of our customers was a patient at Spaulding for several months of her recovery following a spinal cord injury. The staff at Spaulding was pleased with how quickly she was able to return home (it was immediately) after being medically cleared for discharge, due to Wheel Pad being installed at her home. One of their goals is to get patients back home again, and Wheel Pad supports that perfectly.
Julie Lineberger will also be giving a presentation to the staff at Spaulding about Wheel Pad, and leading a private tour of Wheel Pad for the staff. We want OTs and PTs and case managers to know that Wheel Pad is an option they can offer to their clients who want to go home, but can't due to their house's design and/or layout. Because Wheel Pad comes on a steel chassis on wheels, it can be a temporary solution while permanent arrangements are made, or it can be placed on a foundation for a permanent solution, keeping families together and respectfully supporting those with new mobility.
