WCAX visited the WheelPad® Accessible Modular Home Attachment installed at the home of Marian Price in Burlington, Vermont as part of a story to highlight the continued increasing need for new housing and putting a spotlight on the importance of including accessible and universally designed housing as part of any solution to the housing crisis.

Being able to support community members in need at home here in Vermont, and across the country, to get a quickly installed, accessible living space has always been the mission of WheelPad L3C.

We have been so honored to have been a part of Hisham's journey as he adapts to life after a spinal cord injury by being able to provide an accessible living space that lets him stay with his family and community when he's in Burlington.

RJ Adler of WheelPad was quoted in the story -

“Our biggest aim is to provide choice for people. As able-bodied people, we have the choice to go live in whatever house we want; we wanna give that same choice to everybody,” said the company’s RJ Adler. “We are in a housing crisis, and there are all types of housing that we need, and I think accessibility is a really important part of what we’re building new.”

Thank you to Laura Ullman and WCAX for highlighting the need for accessible housing and how WheelPad is working to address those challenges!
